Summer fun with The Comedy of Errors: The Real Housewives of Ephesus Version

The summer of 2024 was filled with laughter thanks to Shakespeare in Clark Park and their entertaining, joy-filled production of The Comedy of Errors: The Real Housewives of Ephesus Version. It was fun to see my adaptation come to life. Much thanks to Shamus for the opportunity and the direction of the play, and to the fabulous cast: Kishia Nixon, Minou Pourshariati, Jennifer Summerfield, Joyous Whitfield, Wyatt Flynn, and Jenna Adams.

Superlosers with a lot of heart

The students at Montgomery County Community College won my heart with their fabulous performances of Gilly, Busy, and Snake.

Sue Winge Playwriting Award

It was an honor and thrill to be the recipient of the 2021 Sue Winge Playwriting Award from Villanova University. My play, Laundry, received two performed readings in the Smith Performance Lab located in the John and Joan Mullen Center for the Performing Arts. Enjoy the recorded reading of the play by some fabulous Villanova graduate students, and hang out for the end for a talkback with yours truly.

Peter and the Starcatcher and
Ride the Cyclone at FCS, 2023-24

In the fall of 2023 and the winter of 2024, I had the pleasure of directing a high school production of Peter and the Starcatcher and Ride the Cyclone. It had been a minute since I had directed high school students. I spent a lot of time reminiscing about a low budget production of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown that I co-directed at Chicago's Amundsen High School back in the day. It was low, low budget. Snoopy's doghouse was a folding table with a red tablecloth on it.

These production were not as low budget, so I got to do some fun things like take my cast of Peter to the local circus school for lessons in tumbling and acrobatics, and incorporating projections and film for Cyclone
